Homecoming

In May we think of flowers because of the adage, April showers bring May flowers. Yet, this year I see the showers of April bringing about something different. Someone dear and near to me allowed me to use her basement art studio and relax by myself to have some peace, quiet, and time to create. I set up my easel and sat in prayer to see what the Lord wanted to create with me. The Lord began to direct me to outline a heart with curtains flowing from either side. The curtains were pulled back and two golden pillars rested on either side. The center of the heart was open, and people were walking into the heart from the West and the East. I heard the Holy Spirit say, “The great reveal of the Heart of The Father will be made known so that my children will come home”. Then I saw the words “Homecoming”. I believe that the Father’s heart has felt hidden from many of God’s children for a long time. It is as though His heart has been hidden behind a veil of curtains and people did not know how to connect with Him because they could not see the road that led to Him. They were lost, but now they have found their way to the center of His heart. It is here that God is healing, purifying, restoring, reviving, and refreshing His children in the depths of His heart.

The curtains are being pulled back so that His wrap-around love can envelop the multitudes. I also heard the Lord say that the lost and the broken will be reunited with the twelve tribes of Israel. Thus, I painted twelve people in the center walking into God’s heart together to represent each of the Tribes. Each person walks into their destinies according to the truths and riches of the Father. As I meditated and painted a scripture came to mind. It reads in 1 John 3:1-3 “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will has not yet been made known. Until we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.”

As we celebrate the homecoming of the twelve tribes of Israel, God’s children will be reunited with their spiritual families. We are all woven into the great tapestry of God’s family. All we have to do is accept Him as our Lord and Savior. What was once hidden will be made known both in the spirit and in the flesh. What was once lost will be found. It is an exuberant time to be a Christian as we get to walk into the center of God’s heart. My prayer for every one of you is that your eyes can see the path to the center of God’s heart, your ears can hear His still quiet voice beckoning your home, and that you feel His tangible presence as He draws near. In May, we are going to the center and depths of God’s heart. The Lord is near, closer than ever before. May you find yourself resting in the center of God’s heart. Amen.
